Position Summary:

Reporting to the Employment Tax Manager, the Tax Compliance Specialist will be responsible for tracking new clients and will support the Tax Department by working with both internal departments and clients to gather necessary information to establish tax accounts with the states. Collect and process Power of Attorney forms, and other administrative payroll tax functions.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Upload applications and/or Power of Attorney's for client report states
  • Log and track all applications
  • Open and log tax notices from taxing authorities
  • Correspond with clients and taxing authorities to manage client tax accounts
  • Assist with tax department mail boxes
  • Assist payroll to correct issues with employee setups
  • Assist Tax Manager as needed for other projects
  • Document all processes with individual states
  • Seek efficiencies in all processes and communicate new ideas to Tax Manager

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with general payroll
  • Experience with MasterTax preferred, but not required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Attention to detail
  • Well organized, and ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work well with others, including other departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, other Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency using websites to upload information

Educational and Professional Licensing or Certification Requirements:

  • High School Education
