Position Summary:

Reporting to the Employment Tax Manager, the Jr. Employment Tax Specialist will support the Employment Tax department by gathering and uploading state applications, processing Power of Attorney forms, performing daily matching of system feeds and other administrative employment tax functions. This role is an entry-level position with the Employment Tax department that would be well-suited for a team player who is looking to build a foundation of employment tax knowledge.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Upload applications for client report states
  • Log and track missing applications
  • Aggregate and log tax notices from taxing authorities
  • Correspond with clients and taxing authorities to manage client tax accounts
  • Assist the team with regulatory filings
  • Perform daily matching of system-level data feeds
  • Assist with quarterly and year-end projects
  • Assist with tax department email boxes
  • Assist payroll with correcting issues with employee setups
  • Assist the Employment Tax team as needed with other projects

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Willingness to learn new tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
  • Attention to detail
  • Well organized, and ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
  • Experience with general payroll
  • Ability to work well with others, including other departments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency using websites to upload information

Educational and Professional Licensing or Certification Requirements:

  • High School Education
